sales table today
Today we had a sucessful sales table. This is a community effort for all the group, people bring things they don't want anymore for sale, and the profits go back to the group for outings and trips. We usually have one sales table every 6 weeks. We are donated a varied selection of bric a brac like clothing, baking (usually by Douglass), ornaments, books and toys.

Bargain Barn Trip
Today a few of the group went to the Bargain Barn to find some bargains!!!
Three walked, and Nicola went to pick them up before lunch with the car because it was quite hot. Also we would have not been back in time for lunch if they had walked.
Janet cooked a beautiful Quiche for lunch and we served it up with coleslaw.

Nicola would also like to add, that today we spent some more time learning more about this website, the computer, and how to upload photos to it. We also sent an email to the main office, and are waiting on a reply.

Womens Group
Womens Group runs on a Wednesday in a different building and as the name suggests it is only open to women.
It is a learning group, with new ideas for people, which teaches creativeness. We love the friendship and companionship. To many it is the only outing of the week, and many love coming. The group is run by Louise, and when she is away on holliday, Nicola takes the group. We get Occupational Therapy students coming to help and be part of their study course for a few months of the year. One of the students got taught to use a sewing machine last year!
Usually once a month the grooup goes out into the community op shopping, and two meals a year. next month a trip is planned for a visit to a members house and garden.
Above is a Photo of some of our creations. We did a few sessions on mosaics (Wednesday, July 30, 2008), it was a messy job but awesome. many were proud they completed the craft project, some members gave them as gifts.

We are here at Wesley Street and we have just started being on the internet.
Some of us have been at Stepping Stones for a number of years, some of us have just recently started coming here. We learn new stuff with different interesting topics that fit with our lives.
Nicola our deputy boss from Louise, would like to put up a programme for us to learn about computers, which will be fun.. so we have started this blog!!!

Woodhaugh Gardens BBQ
We started the day by meeting at 11am, Louise got the van, and Nicola drove the car.. so we piled in and drove to Signal Hill Lookout and stopped at the top and had a good look at the view, noting the big horrible ugly Mitre 10 mega store coloured bright orange, unmissable in the panoramic scene. We enjoyed the rest of the scene though.
We moved on to the Woodhaugh Gardens and nicola cooked up the yummy Gourmet burger patties, and we had them in buns with salads, and sausages in bread with onions. There were some peole there playing loud music, so it wasn't fun. But the rest of the BBQ was enjoyed by all, and it was a HOT day, a good sucess!!!
